Hi!
My birthday month was coming up in September so a month or so beforehand I decided to get on the IPSY waitlist. In really late August or Early September IPSY did their promotional thing where if you liked a bunch of youtube channels and allowed IPSY to post on your facebook page then you could get off the waitlist, so I ended up doing that. But I didn't end up getting my first IPSY bag until October 2014 which I was kind of sad about. Oh well. What really interested me in trying the beauty subscription IPSY is that it was $10.00 and the fact that people raved about how you were able to customize your bag to your likes by filling out a beauty quiz and being able to review products. I thought that was super cool! But ultimately after 4 months I ended up cancelling IPSY because IPSY kept sending me products that were not on my beauty quiz and I only rated the products I loved. I don't want to give a product a negative review when it's not that the product is bad or doesn't work for me, it's only that I did not specify I wanted to receive that product. They should make a button for that specific purpose that says something along the lines of did not request item or got too many of this item because I noticed I would get 1 hand and 1 face product pretty much in each bag. I did not request face or hand products. The one that really killed me was the dang hairspray! I don't use hairspray. I also noticed from watching other people on youtube receiving their IPSY bags with the #1 coveted makeup item that were never in my bag. I forgot now what item it was, but I think it might have been a Smashbox item. I did notice there were other items. I'm not sure what the purpose of the beauty quiz and reviewing of the items is for, but it didn't help my bags and I also noticed maybe some popularity issues came out. If you had a lot of subscribers then you got really good products and if you didn't then you got the crap products they couldn't send to the big youtube followers. I guess that is really how I felt about IPSY, that I was getting left over stuff no one wanted and stuff that I didn't even want. Sorry about the long complaint.
IPSY gives inserts, but they don't list beauty products and prices. I don't know if they changed that or not, but in my IPSY bags I got an insert with advertisements. In this specific blog I am going to be talking about Skone Cosmetics Tattooed Waterproof Eyeliner in Black. I have never heard of Skone Cosmetics. I was really excited about this product because not only was it an eyeliner, but it was waterproof. If you know me I love my makeup waterproof because of sweat and oil. This was a huge kudos to IPSY for sending me a waterproof eyeliner!
There is no product description or prices on the IPSY insert.

According to the official skonecosmetics.com website the price of this product is $20.00 currently on sale for $15.00. I would personally not spend $20.00 on an eye liner, especially since other brands offer waterproof eye liners that work well. That is way too much. The packaging is cute. It is a thick plastic pencil. There is a cap that you take off to find a very fine tipped 'brush'. I don't think it is an actual brush, but it's supposed to look like one. I have never seen that before in my eye liners so that is actually kind of cool. The website says it is a felt tip applicator. The amount of product is 0.07 fluid ounces which is a decent amount for liquid eye liner, but not for the price. The pigment of this product is okay, but not intense at all like the website is advertising. I'm not sure if I let it sit around too long and it dried out or if it is really this bad. I have to layer the eye liner multiple times to get the pigment to show up on my lash line. It doesn't show up at all on my water line. I think that just might be cause it sat too long. I can build the pigment up with layers though. Once again I'm not sure if it's just from sitting too long, but this product wipes away really easily, especially off my eyes. When I put it down on my arm and let it dry, it fades, but it doesn't go away. I put it on my lower lash line, waited a few minutes, and was able to wipe it away no problem. The weird thing is I put it on the top lash line, waited a few minutes, and it took more effort but it did end up sliding off. I don't know. The application of this product is very sticky. It is not smooth or even or easy. The texture of the product is actually quite smooth once it goes on. It is not thick or feelings like it weighs down or anything. Overall, I might have to get a new of this product to test it fresh because it seems like it would work a lot better if it wasn't dried out. I might keep that in mind for a future update on this product. As it stands right now I would not purchase this product because of the price, the way it is behaving, and I might purchase this product in the future just to give it a more accurate testing and review. But that is the only reason why I would purchase this item is to test and review.
Sincerely,
Marina
