IPSY, November 2014: IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Full Coverage Concealer in Natural Medium

Hi!

In today's blog I am going to be talking about products I got through the beauty subscription service called IPSY for November 2014. IPSY is a $10.00 a month beauty subscription service where you get 5 sample or deluxe sample sizes. The products range from hair to face to brushes to eye shadow to lipsticks to eye liners to mascaras to face washes. I have to give them credit, they do have a lot of variety of beauty products to try out. They also seem to carry many different brands from low end to medium to high end.

In today's blog I am going to be reviewing the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Full Coverage, anti-aging, waterproof concealer with hydro-collagen vitamins C and K in Natural Medium. I have heard of IT cosmetics by name, but I have never actually tested out any of their products. I was really excited that IPSY sent me IT Cosmetics product to try. I use MAC concealers and I just recently bought a MAC pro-longwear concealer that I love, but I am always willing to try new concealers. Especially ones that claim to be long-wearing/waterproof!

Description:

IPSY does not include product descriptions or prices on their inserts, but this product came with it's own little card that is front and back. On the front talks about the product and on the back shows a before/after picture of the under eye and gives directions of how to use this product.

Comments:
According to the official IT Cosmetics website, this product costs $24.00 for 0.28 fluid ounces. IPSY gave a travel size of this product which doesn't say anything about grams, but maybe about 0.11 fluid ounces. I think that price is a bit high, but since I just spent $22.00 on a MAC concealer, it used to be $18.00 a few years ago, so $24.00 isn't that bad, especially if it works well. The MAC concealer is 0.30 fluid ounces for $22.00 so it's a little bit of a better deal and it works for me so I would go for that, but this IT Cosmetics concealer is definitely worth the $24.00. This does appear to not only cover dark circles around the eyes but it lights the eye area and it does last for hours without creasing or moving around. The package is a tube that you squeeze to squeeze the product out. I used my fingers, but I do have a small concealer brush I bought at Walmart because they sell some E.L.F. products and that was one of them. I think you get a decent amount of product even for the price. As I said a few sentences before this I put this on around 4pm and it is now almost 11pm and it has not moved or clumped up or anything. It's still sitting there where I put it! The application of this product is a bit difficult to work into the skin. It's not bad, but it definitely takes some work to get it to spread and blend in. The product feels a bit thick and it wants to stay put which is very good, but getting it in place is a bit of work. The texture of this product feels a bit thick on the finger, but once applied around eye and the product worked into the skin, it feels light weight. I can't feel that I am wearing it which I was a bit surprised because I thought I was going to feel it, but it is actually lightweight! I can't smell anything so I don't think this product has a smell and if it does it is super subtle. Once applied under the eye you can definitely not smell anything. I think that this product does a really good job of concealing the dark circles under and around the eyes. It does a good job of concealing blemishes too. I feel that I have a lot of redness on my face that I like to conceal and I feel that it does that. If you dab this product in it definitely conceals large pores. Rubbing it in does work, but I think this is a product better suited to kind of dabbing it in or use a concealer brush. That would probably work really well. I have combination skin according to Clinique means I have dry cheeks, forehead, and chin, but tend to have an oily T-zone. I think that this product should be good to use with oily, dry, normal, and combination skin types. If you have dry skin or combination where it's patchy dry you definitely want to avoid rubbing this product in because it will cover it, but it might also dry it out even more when the product dries. Overall, this product definitely conceals and it is waterproof, my face approves, lol. This concealer is definitely full-coverage which I also love! I guess you coul say it is anti-aging because it leaves the skin looking smooth and even which might shave off on on the age by looking a bit younger. Besides the price, I am really impressed with this product! If I didn't love MAC or didn't find the MAC concealer then I would splurge on this product, but since I have a favorite where I get a little bit more product for a little bit cheaper, I'm happy with it.

Sincerely,
Marina
